From when I was about 14 until about 22 or so, Hair Metal was a thing. It’s contribution to the totality of music history cannot be understated, but it’s emotional connection to a small and often overlooked generation is profound. In this musical blip glam flamboyance, toxic masculinity, and bitchin’ guitars were focused into a tiny little spot. It was often really crappy and embarrassing, but sometimes it was AWESOME.
