I grew up in The Rockies, surrounded by ranches, the Old West, and country music fans. Country Music never took, really. I was never as drawn to it as I was other styles. Plus, I couldn’t escape it. It was everywhere.
However, now and then I’d hear songs that for some reason or another stuck with me. It was hard to predict. Here are 11 of them. There should be twelve, but as I’ve found in some cases, Spotify doesn’t have everything. This list is missing it’s first entry; The Thunder Rolls by Garth Brooks. It’s funny to me that as a music lover who’s seen many, many concerts, but is not a fan of Country Music in general, I’ve only seen Metallica more often than I’ve seen Garth Brooks. That dude can put on a show.
